Fuel Cells

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC’s) have a ceramic part for oxygen conduction. Today’s most developped technology uses a 8mol% yttria stabilized zirconia. Using nanomaterial is interesting because of lower sintering temperature and ageing.

Fuel cells are at the moment used in very few high-tech applications, but production volume could be very big once the technology is mature.
